7 BL Series That Went Too Far in the Sex Scenes(And We Kinda Lived For It)

Okay, let’s talk about sex.

No, seriously. As BL fans, we are a fascinating, slightly hypocritical bunch, aren't we? We spend 90% of our time on Twitter, Reddit, and MDL begging for more. "Give us the uncut version!" "Don't be cowards, show the kiss!" "We need spice! We need chemistry! We need a BED SCENE!"

watch the uncut version

We are thirsty. And then... a show actually does it. A show gives us all the sex. Wall-to-wall, "oh-my-god-are-they-even-acting" spice. And what do we do?

We complain. "This is just porn with no plot!"

"Ugh, the lighting is so dark, I can't see anything."

"That was... so cringey."

"Why is this so toxic?! He's a walking red flag!"

"This is a bait-and-switch! Where is the R-rated scene they promised?!"

It's hilarious, and let's be real, it's part of the fun. We're not just passive viewers; we're critics, we're connoisseurs of smut, and we have standards. We complain because we care. Or because we're secretly loving the drama.

So, in that spirit, I’ve rounded up the top 14 BL series that delivered A LOT of sex... and made the fandom lose its collective mind, for better or worse.

Love in the Air (LITA)

Synopsis: Two separate stories. 1) A sweet-talking architect (Payu) "tames" a chaotic college kid (Rain). 2) A flirty-as-hell car exec (Prapai) relentlessly pursues a traumatized, cynical student (Sky).

Why It Was Hot (And Why We Complained): LITA was an all-you-can-eat smut buffet. Especially the second half. Prapai and Sky's story had so many long, explicit, and plot-central sex scenes, it was genuinely shocking.

The Complaint: "Did they... forget the plot?" This was the ultimate "porn without plot" complaint. Also, the fandom was deeply divided on Payu's "daddy" vibes bordering on grooming, and the way Sky's very real trauma was... well, fucked out of him. Hot, yes. Problematic? Also yes.

Bed Friend

Synopsis: Two office co-workers, Uea and King, secretly start a "friends with benefits" relationship, which (shocker) gets complicated.

Why It Was Hot (And Why We Complained): The premise is literally "let's just have sex." And they do. A lot. Net and James have blistering chemistry, and the scenes are good.

The Complaint: Another "PWP" (Porn Without Plot) contender. Some fans felt the story was just a thin excuse to get them into bed every 10 minutes. Not that everyone was complaining... but the "where's the story?" discourse was definitely there.

Big Dragon

Synopsis: Two rival university students, Mangkorn "Big Dragon" and Yai, get drunk and have an explosive one-night stand. Yai, feeling used, vows revenge.

Why It Was Hot (And Why We Complained): That one scene. The infamous, 20+ minute uncut NC scene that broke the internet. It was long, it was detailed, it was... a lot.

The Complaint: "Okay, cool... now what about the other 7 episodes?" The rest of the show's plot and budget felt like they were sacrificed to film that one scene. Fans complained that the story was paper-thin and the production was cheap, except for the one thing everyone remembers.

Love Syndrome III

Synopsis: After a car accident, Day loses his memory and forgets his passionate, if violently toxic, relationship with Itt.

Why It Was Hot (And Why We Complained): This show is... an experience. It's raw, aggressive, and doesn't shy away from anything. The sex is less "romantic" and more "primal."

The Complaint: "I think... this is just... abuse?" This show makes TharnType look like a fluffy rom-com. The "complaints" here are genuine concerns for the characters' safety. It's so over-the-top toxic that it's hard to even find the "hot" in it sometimes.

History 3: Make Our Days Count

Synopsis: A popular, flirty jock (Sun) falls for a cold, hardworking student (HaoTing). A classic Taiwanese high-school-to-college romance.

Why It Was Hot (And Why We Complained): The chemistry was real, sweet, and steamy. They had one of the most natural and passionate sex scenes in any high school BL.

The Complaint: "THAT. F*CKING. ENDING." If you know, you know. This isn't a complaint about the sex; it's a complaint about the plot. This show gave us everything, made us fall in love, and then ripped our hearts out in the most famously bullshit way possible. Fans are still complaining about it, years later.

Semantic Error

Synopsis: A rigid, straight-laced programmer (Sangwoo) and a chaotic, popular artist (Jaeyoung) are forced to work on a project together. It's oil and water, until it's not.

Why It Was Hot (And Why We Complained):

Okay, this one is a joke, but it's the most important complaint. The tension was unbearable. That one kiss? It changed the game.

The Complaint: "WHERE IS THE BED SCENE?!" This is the ultimate "complaint" from the other side. It was a perfect, flawless show, and the only complaint was that they didn't give us the explicit spice. It proves our hypocrisy. We complain when there's too much... and we riot when there's not enough.

So, What's the Point?

At the end of the day, we complain because we're passionate. We don't just watch these shows; we live in them. We analyze them. We expect things from them.

Whether it's "porn without plot," "cringey production," or "criminal censorship," our "complaints" are just proof that this genre is alive, kicking, and (let's be real) thirsty as hell.

What did I miss? What series made YOU scream at your screen (in a good or bad way)?

Drop it in the comments. I need to know.
