SYNOPSIS

In the serene town of Higashikawa, Toey seeks solace from a painful breakup, not knowing that fate has a unique plan in store for him. Here, he crosses paths with Oat, on the verge of closing his bachelor chapter. From the first awkward hellos to the deep, undeniable connection, their journey from strangers to soulmates unfolds against a backdrop of breathtaking landscapes. Yet, as they stand at the crossroads between a dream and reality, they're haunted by a poignant question: to keep on dreaming or to confront the truth?

Their burgeoning love, pure and intense, unwittingly casts shadows on the lives around them. Faced with a heart-wrenching dilemma, Toey and Oat find themselves grappling with the moral fabric of their desires. As they navigate through this emotional labyrinth, they learn that love's beauty often comes intertwined with pain. Their decisions, heavy with consequence, promise to redefine the courses of their lives.

In this intricate dance of love, morality, and self-discovery, "Present Perfect" and "Present Still Perfect" weave a narrative that asks the ultimate question: Will Toey and Oat find their perfect ending, or is their love just a beautiful illusion? “Back in 2017, ‘Present Perfect’ was not just a film; it was a conversation with the audience. It was a story that dared to leave the ending open, a narrative that belonged as much to its viewers as it did to its characters. The film was a journey without a final destination, an invitation to the audience to ponder, to imagine, to decide. And ponder you did. The reaction was immediate and powerful. ‘What the hell? That’s it?’ you said. The story lingered, uncompleted, like a sentence left unfinished.

This profound connection and the raw, unfiltered responses were the very essence that led to the birth of ‘Present Still Perfect’ in 2020. This sequel is more than just a continuation; it’s an evolution of emotions, an acceptance of the imperfect journey of life. It’s about the beauty of letting go, the courage in making mistakes, and the strength in moving forward.

Both films, at their core, are about embracing the imperfections that define us. ‘Present Still Perfect’ completes the dialogue that ‘Present Perfect’ started, weaving the complexities of choices, acceptance, and the bittersweet symphony of life.

So, as you watch, allow yourself to immerse in the narrative, to feel the characters, and to embrace their journeys as your own. These films are a celebration of the imperfect, a testament to the fact that it’s okay not to have all the answers. In the end, it’s all about the moments we live and the memories we cherish. Enjoy the ride, for every moment is perfect in its imperfection.”
