But as we process this moment, let’s also remind ourselves of the beauty of democracy itself. Yes, democracy can be messy, frustrating, and even painful. There are winners and losers. It’s full of compromise and, often, it feels like the change we want is always just out of reach. But that’s exactly what makes democracy so incredible. In a system where so many voices come together, all with different ideas and dreams, we find a way to move forward together. And that, even in loss, is a privilege.

Let’s take a moment to consider this privilege. Living in a country where people come out to vote, where voices are heard — however imperfectly. Democracy isn’t about having everything go our way. It’s about everyone having a say. And this time, the result didn’t align with our hopes. But if we can’t be gracious in defeat, can we truly appreciate the value of victory?

Yes, I am saddened by this outcome. Even though I’m not American, but there is my 2nd home, And I am sure many of you feel the same. But let’s not dwell in despair. Instead, let’s remember that democracy is alive and well. Every four years, we have another chance to shape the future. So while we may have lost this time, let’s keep moving forward, keep fighting for what we believe in, and keep voting.

To those who supported Donald Trump, congratulations. You worked for this outcome, and today is yours to celebrate. My one ask? Celebrate with kindness. Just as we respect your win, I hope you’ll respect the people who stood with Kamala. And to those who didn’t vote — I’ll say this honestly, it’s hard to be supportive when you chose not to take part. Because, in the end, every voice matters in this grand system we call democracy.
